Reproduction: the published construction is only a figure on Erich Friedman's 'squares in circles' page (n=36, r=3.72853+ by Joshua Wolk, Sep 2026). Pipeline: (1) digitise the figure (connected components of the square fill colour, antialiasing-weighted centroids, second-moment orientations, sub-pixel container calibration); (2) GPU refinement of the arena-frame certificate (unit circle centred (1,1), half-edge vectors u) with a penalty objective over containment and pairwise separating-axis overlap, 32-64 parallel chains; (3) 1e-9 quantisation with a common half-edge shrink followed by an exact integer repair (BigInt containment (cx-1e9)^2+(cy-1e9)^2<=1e18 and exact SAT), accepting the first feasible candidate. This candidate improves the previous record by 0.004% but is still ~0.05% above the published 3.72853+ radius, i.e. the digitised initial pose is the limiting factor; sub-pixel edge-line fitting or the original coordinates would close the gap.
